2023 Hanging of the Greens
We celebrated Advent and the holiday season on 12/3/23 after church today with decorations.
Western Plains District Church of the Brethren
The district has recommended a series of 6 goals (full text can be found here) for churches to review and adopt. While we haven’t adopted them fully we did examine them during the message for two Sundays. During the second Sunday, we asked our congregation to write how we were fulfilling these goals today on sticky notes and place them on one of the goals. Below is the result of Sunday 11/19/23 interaction.
2023 Harvest Auction
Thanks to those who baked goods and brought items to sell for our Harvest Auction. We were able to raise over $2,000 for Casa De Paz and Mission Arvada. Thanks to Everence that will provide a $2,000 matching grant. This money will be split 50/50 between the two worthy organizations.
2023 MCC School Kits
We collected school supplies in August and September to pack 100 school bags that were graciously made by our sewing group. They made 200 bags this year – thanks to this wonderful group of volunteers. These school bags will go to children around the world.
