We are a small but mighty community, united in our commitment to walk our faith journey together. We seek to understand what it means to follow Jesus Christ with peace and faithfulness in our everyday lives.
Our Mission
Living Light of Peace is a Christ-centered congregation, rooted in Anabaptist teachings, and dedicated to living the Good News of God’s hope, peace, joy, and love in our community and world.
Our Purpose
We are a welcoming and affirming community who seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit as we try really hard to follow the teachings of Jesus in:
- Searching for answers together,
- Working for justice, nonviolence, and creation care, and
- Serving with compassion to those who feel marginalized.

What is an Anabaptist?
Anabaptists started in 1525 when a group of people were reading the New Testament and decided to baptize each other again (Anabaptist means to baptize again) as adults who were following Jesus Christ.
As such this group was jailed and even killed, like many other Christian Protestants, by the Roman Catholic Church for heresy.
Today, Anabaptists are known for our stance on baptizing believers, a commitment to non-violence, simplicity in our lifestyles, and service to those in our communities and around the world who need help.

Dwight and Rebecca Scull, co-pastors of Living Light of Peace here.
We firmly believe that every human being is made in the image of God and has a unique purpose to fulfill.
You matter and have a unique calling.
Maybe you already know what that calling is, maybe you have been running from that calling (Dwight did for a long time), or maybe you have absolutely no idea where to even start….
We want to help you find your purpose and calling in life and faith.
Our BELIEFS
What We Believe
We follow the Confession of Faith from a Mennonite Perspective, but allow for all to wrestle with the contents within it. Regarding point 19. Marriage see our official apology and welcome to full participation to the LGBTQIA+ community, which overrides those statements.
1. We worship the one holy and loving God who is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit eternally.
2. We believe that peace is the will of God. Not violence or war.
3. We embody a theology that honors all people regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation, gender, language, culture, or other issue that tends to divide humanity.

Our Goals
We seek to have Christ-like love, root our community in scripture (the Bible) and prayer, build bridges with our community, actively seek Christ’s peace, serve those around us, and live simply.
